Breathing into a release

It’s funny writing books these days as opposed to releasing records like I used to in a previous life. What I love about books is that they have a longevity that singles and dance records never used to have. In those days you made a record, it got released, talked about for a few weeks and then whoosh. Onto the next.

But a book has a very real life. We marked the Breaking of the Shell down for ‘release’ in July, but that is a fairly arbitrary date. What happens now is that over summer and autumn people start to read the book and hopefully spread the word about it. is another place that will help it to raise its profile.

You can breathe with a new book. It creates a momentum of its own and a life of its own. I love that.
